About Leonidas Diamantopoulos
Leonidas was born in the Peloponnese, Greece and conducted his undergraduate studies at the University of Thessaloniki. He continued his artistic education in Athens and subsequently worked very closely with the highest Masters who taught him the many secrets and techniques of Byzantine Orthodox Ecclesiastical Iconography.
In the year 1980, he was invited to participate in the design and creation of the Iconography for Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church in Chicago, Illinois. Since then, he has had the honor to offer his services to approximately thirty five (35) Orthodox Churches creating wonderful works of Iconographical art as well as overseeing the entire interior decoration of many churches. His art currently adorns many Orthodox Churches (Greek Orthodox, Antiochian Orthodox, Serbian Orthodox etc.) all over the United States, Canada and South America. In fact, he has had the honor and pleasure to design and create the Iconography for the Assumption Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Denver, Colorado as well as the Assumption Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Caracas, Venezuela which were both declared by many and the media as the largest and most beautiful Iconographical projects in North and South America.
Within his well organized Studios are highly qualified artists and craftsmen who not only understand the many secrets of this beautiful Byzantine art form, but also have a great love and respect for the Church. It is his strong belief that through those feelings, true inspiration flows and their wonderful work is a testament to their devotion.
